Quick answer: Match your trip to a confirmed event date, then check the organiser's booking and weather notices. Annual seasonal patterns are not a confirmed calendar.

Choose the experience you want
For a relaxed cultural trip, build in time to explore the host town as well as the main venue. For a music or film festival, choose the performance or screening first and organise transport around its finish time. A festival pass may not include every separately ticketed activity.
Lantern events are especially attractive after dark, so check the return journey before leaving Seoul. An overnight stay can be easier than racing for the last train. Smaller host cities may have fewer late-night transport options than Seoul or Busan.
Spring, summer and winter planning
Cherry-blossom celebrations, lantern events, Boryeong's mud activities, water-music festivals and winter ice festivals are ideas for a future seasonal trip. Their next editions need separately announced dates. We removed the older unverified spring/summer calendar rather than presenting it as current booking advice.
Blossom timing, ice conditions, beach access and outdoor performances depend on weather. Do not infer a 2027 date from a 2026 weekend. Reserve refundable accommodation where practical until the organiser announces the event and ticket arrangements.
Before paying for tickets
- Check the exact venue, date and session.
- Use the organiser's listed seller and review overseas-card support.
- Check age restrictions, identification rules and re-entry policy.
- Read weather cancellation and refund terms.
- Plan the last bus or train, or arrange an overnight stay.
- Recheck the organiser's notice board on the day.
For broader planning, see our season guide and day-trip guide. Festival admission, programme details and transport are separate costs unless the ticket explicitly bundles them.
