This English-language filming-location guide is for international visitors planning a Korea trip around a drama they enjoy. English place names are paired with Korean map searches so you can plan the walk independently, whichever country you travel from.

Start with four verified places in Suwon

The Korea Tourism Organization identifies four places around Haenggung-dong in Suwon with scenes from Lovely Runner (2024). The table gives you a small, usable shortlist rather than sending you across Korea for a photograph.

Place to saveKorean map searchConnection described by KTO
Haengnidan Street행리단길Sun-jae and Sol’s first-date setting
Haenggung-dong Mural Village행궁동 벽화마을Their route to school and the wall scene
Hwahongmun Gate화홍문The bridge in front of the gate appears in a confession scene
Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion방화수류정The bike-learning scene

These scene associations come from KTO’s official Lovely Runner itinerary, checked on 17 October 2026. They do not establish access to every doorway, interior or exact camera position.

Build a flexible walk, not a race to recreate scenes

In Suwon, a manageable fan day starts with choosing your two must-see stops before adding the other two.

  1. Use Haengnidan Street as a neighborhood starting point and choose somewhere to eat or rest.
  2. Decide whether a quiet walk through the mural area fits current access and your walking needs.
  3. Map Hwahongmun Gate and the pavilion as your next stops, checking the pedestrian route.
  4. Finish while you still have energy for the journey back to your accommodation.

This sequence is an editorial suggestion, not a timed or guided product. Check the pins together before leaving: a street, a village and a specific gate are different types of destination. Your map may direct you to the center of an area rather than the scene you remember. Save the official reference and compare it with public surroundings without entering private property.

If the drama is only part of your day, use our Suwon fortress and palace guide to choose an additional historical stop. Leave the full fortress circuit for another plan if it would make your return rushed.

Plan the last leg from your Seoul departure point

For a Seoul-to-Suwon trip, route your journey to the first filming stop, not only to a station named Suwon.

Compare the complete journey from your accommodation, including transfers and the final local bus, taxi or walk. Save the return destination too. This guide does not quote a fixed travel time or fare because those depend on your starting point, route and departure.

Our Korean address and map guide explains pin checks. If you choose a reserved train, use the rail-booking checklist; a rail reservation does not cover every subsequent local journey.

Photograph the setting without disrupting its everyday use

At Suwon’s neighborhood filming stops, treat homes and working businesses as everyday spaces even when you recognize them on screen.

Stay on permitted public paths, move aside for residents and keep doors and vehicle access clear. Ask before photographing inside a shop or café. Do not photograph through residential windows, follow someone into a gated space or move objects to match a scene. A short photo stop is easier to accommodate than a group blocking a lane with repeated takes.

KTO also identifies Mong Ted café with Sol’s on-screen home. That is a filming association, not a promise that it is open today or that every part can be photographed. Verify its own current notices before making it your main reason for the trip; do not treat neighboring entrances as attractions.

Keep a rain and accessibility fallback

For this Suwon walk, weather and your group’s walking needs should decide how many stops you attempt.

Check step-free routes, surfaces and rest opportunities separately if traveling with a wheelchair or stroller. This article does not certify an accessible path between the stops. In poor weather, shorten the outdoor section and choose an indoor stop only after confirming it is open; a café is not a guaranteed shelter or public restroom.

If you prefer a Seoul-based fan day instead, see our K-pop guide without concert tickets. Keep one simple alternative so a closed stop does not derail the whole day.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official Lovely Runner tour?

No. It is an independent planning guide using KTO’s published filming associations. No guide, transport or entry is included.

Can I enter the houses shown in the drama?

A filming credit does not give visitors permission to enter. Follow the current owner’s access rules and stay outside private areas.

Can I combine this with Hwaseong Haenggung?

You can consider it as an optional addition, but check the palace’s current admission schedule and your remaining travel time first.

Does this guide confirm that the actors will be there?

No. These are filming locations, not a public appearance schedule.
